In japanese Ken means strong, healthy. The name also comes from an Celtic/Gaelic origin and can mean handsome. Or in english the name is sometimes the short form of Kenneth.

Siberian

Gentian
It was really hard trying to find any symbolic meanings behind the gentian flower. I've come across lots of different meanings and such. Some places list the Gentian as connoting "You are Unjust".

I found however the gentian was named after Gentius, an ancient king of Illyria (now coastal Croatia) who used the flower for medical purposes.

After using Google some more I got a lot of different meanings from injustice to loveliness, integrity, virgin pride and intrinsic worth. I also came across a site saying that when the flower is closed it means "Sweet be thy dreams" and when the flower is fringed it means "I look to heaven".

And that is really all I find without getting too technical.
